Paolo Gresele is full Professor of Internal Medicine at the Department of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Perugia, Italy. His research interests are mainly focused on hemostatic and thrombotic disorders, with special attention on the role of platelets in hemorrhagic, cardiovascular and inflammatory diseases.

He is the current President of Italian Society on Hemostasis and Thrombosis, former chairman of the Platelet Physiology Scientific and Standardization Committee of the International Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis (ISTH) and Chairman of the Subcommittee for Inherited and Acquired Platelet Function Disorders of the European Hematology Association-Scientific Working Group (EHA-SWG) on Thrombocytopenias and Platelet Function Disorders.

He has been editor of several books on platelets including “Platelets in thrombotic and non-thrombotic disorders 2nd Edition”, Spriger Verlag, Cham, 2017.
