Meet Dr. Ramón Lecumberri, Senior Medical Advisor at Hemostatics

Dr. Ramón Lecumberri, MD, PhD, is a leading hematologist with deep expertise in thrombosis and haemostasis, serving as Co-Director of the Hematology Department and Full Professor of Hematology at the University Clinic of Navarra. With a clinical and academic career spanning decades, Dr. Lecumberri is internationally recognized for his work in the prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolism, as well as thrombosis associated with cancer.

He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific articles and contributed to 45 book chapters, establishing himself as a key voice in the field. As principal investigator, he has led numerous translational research projects and clinical trials supported by both public and private funding.

Dr. Lecumberri has also held prominent positions within the Spanish Society of Hematology (SEHH) and the Spanish Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (SETH). He currently serves as the coordinator of SETH’s Working Group on Thrombosis and Cancer. Internationally, he contributes to the Scientific and Standardization Committee on Hemostasis and Malignancy of the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), further underscoring his leadership in advancing care and research in hematologic disorders.
