Dr. Frédéric Ratel is a seasoned European Patent Attorney and Registered Technology Transfer Professional with over 15 years of experience bridging the fields of chemistry, intellectual property, and innovation management. He holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a Chemical Engineering degree from ECPM Strasbourg.

Throughout his career, Dr. Ratel has occupied influential positions in both academia and industry. For more than a decade, he served as Industrial Property Manager at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ), where he expertly managed patent portfolios, facilitated the creation of spin-off companies, and spearheaded technology transfer projects across diverse sectors such as health, energy, and sustainability.

Currently serving as a Patent Adviser at ABG Intellectual Property Law in Barcelona, Dr. Ratel focuses on patent drafting, prosecution, and providing strategic intellectual property guidance to clients operating within the chemical, materials, and pharmaceutical industries.
